Education and Outreach

Fortunate Futures currently offers a variety of job-training programs aimed at improving your marketability and skills. These classes range from 8 to 13 weeks in length and are taught by professionals that bring real- life experiences into the classroom. Our small class sizes allow us to provide one on one support to our students, improving your ability to pass the certification tests. The cost of classes is determined on a sliding fee scale based on income, but may be of no charge to individuals who meet eligibility requirements. As demand grows, we add additional types of certifications and training programs.

 

Additionally, Fortunate Futures offers assistance with placement after completion of any of our job training programs. We have established relationships with employers who we connect our graduates with upon successful completion of the program. We also continue to work with our students after they find employment to ensure the transition from class to work is successful.

We offer job-training and certification programs in the following areas:

  • Customer Service

  • Medical Assisting

  • Phlebotomy (blood drawing)

  • Computer Literacy: Office 2010 (Word, Excel)

  • Business, Cover Letter and Resume Writing

  • Interview Techniques

  • KeyTrain and WorkKeys Preparation and Testing

  • National Retail Federation Certificate in Customer Service

Applicants must meet these requirements

  • 18 Years of age or older

  • High School Diploma Preferred

  • Desire to learn and be successful

Sessions take place Monday through Friday 5:00pm to 9:00pm
